Gateway is a peer and member led community development project and we are hoping to find some interested people to join the project team as a trainee through Community Employment. We have a couple of vacancies for trainee project workers at the moment which will mean receiving training and mentoring and developing and building on a range of skills in project work in a community setting, group facilitation, peer support, planning and organising, admin and more. These roles are part time for 19.5 hours per week and require certain eligibility criteria to be met prior to applying so check with intreo to see if you would be eligible. Shortlisting, reference check and garda vetting will also apply for successful applicants.
We are looking for hands on people with an interest in working with people and in mental health and community development / community projects like ours. The role involves working with others from a place of equality and respect, working as part of a team, engaging in peer support in person and over the phone, supporting, planning and facilitating small group activities and supporting our drop in space to run smoothly and safely during these strange times and in accordance with the needs and interests of our members and the values of the project.
