Gateway is recruiting for a new Development Worker

Hi folks,

As many of you already know there are a few changes coming up in Gateway.  Ali is moving on from Gateway at the end of October. We are sad to say goodbye and thank Ali for all her hard work over the years as well as wishing her much success for the future.

Gateway is now recruiting for a new Development Worker to work as part of the Gateway team, supporting the Project Co-ordinator in managing Gateway, and supporting members in the operation and development of a member and peer led community resource for people with self experience of mental ill health and recovery.

For those interested in applying see the job spec here: http://www.mentalhealthireland.ie/recruitment/
Mental Health Ireland is the employer and managing the recruitment for Gateway.  Please follow the application process explained in the advert which will mean applying to Mental Health Ireland, not Gateway.

Please be aware that the deadline for applications is 4pm on Friday 26th October 2018. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place in early November.

Feel free to circulate this to people who might be interested and/or experienced. We value lived expertise and applications from peers as well as allied.  We are looking for someone who has management experience, a community development background with good knowledge of mental health as well as the context and kind of work that we do in Gateway using a community development approach.

Good luck to all/any applying.

Some changes to our schedule... Gateway in October

Dear Gateway Members & Supporters

Yesterday at a special members’ meeting which included attendance by Gateway’s Management Committee Chairperson and other Management Committee members, the decision to reduce drop in hours and activities was taken by members after much discussion and consideration of the current project resources and where to prioritise them.  As many of you will understand, in recent times Gateway has become very busy with attendance at drop in doubling.  In order to be able to continue to provide a safe and healthy environment and adequate balance of staffing,  some reduction to Gateway’s activities has been agreed for the next few months.  Below is the new schedule for October which reflects these changes which will see drop in opening from 2-4pm.

Notes from yesterday's meeting are available to members through the drop in.

These were hard decisions for the Project to make with a view to protecting the project, its members and staff for the future success of Gateway. If anyone would like to lead/support a café meet up after drop in, please let us know on info@gatewaymha.com or in person during drop in.

Please be assured that these changes are only temporary. Everyone is doing their best to make Gateway the success it has become. It is a terrific peer and member led project but needs a bit of nurturing and time to resettle following significant change this year.

We appreciate everyone’s support and wish everyone well.

The Gateway Team
