First Fortnight is an arts-based mental health awareness project that happens in the first two weeks of every year. This year it is supporting Amnesty International Ireland’s campaign to end mental health prejudice and discrimination.
1.30pm The debate (FREE): Have attitudes and behaviours towards people with mental health problems really changed? Panellists include award winning novelist Colm Tóibín, journalist, author and GAA star Liam Hayes and Dr Siobhán Barry of the College of Psychiatry, Ireland. Colm O’Gorman, Executive Director of Amnesty International Ireland, will chair the discussion.
8pm The gig (€10): Four of Ireland's hottest bands have donated their time for free to support the campaign. For just €10 you will see And So I Watch You From Afar, CODES, Le Galaxie, Dark Room Notes. Plus there will be a raffle with loads of stunning prizes!
