Meditation with Simone

Hello from Simone,

I hope you are doing fine and enjoy the sunshine we get these days.

I recorded another guided meditation accompanied with relaxing sounds of Tibetan singing bowls for you.
I am really enjoying recording these meditations even thought it takes a few attempts to record them in one go.

This meditation focuses mainly on your breath. Your breath is a wonderful tool to be present and to help you to calm down.
There are so many different qualities of your breath which can be explored.

Being aware of your breath and might breathing out a little longer than usual can be very helpful for relaxation and can be done anytime. You don't need to do it during a guided meditation.

Learn the Ukulele with Ealaín at Gateway

Hello! My name is Ealaín. I started playing the guitar at aged 8 and since then have loved stringed instruments of all kinds! Before this pandemic turned out lives upside down and inside out, I was planning on starting a group where we would learn how to play the ukulele and hopefully sing our way to a place of joy and connectedness.. but alas, that wasn’t to be. I never realised how much I needed hugs from my friends and being able to actually sit beside the people that I love and so I’m here trying to navigate this new, temporary world the best I can. I made a video of a ukulele tutorial in the hopes that some of you may find it useful. I have attached a link to a ukulele tuner app and will post another video soon. Hope you enjoy it!

Meditation with Simone

Hello from Simone,

I hope you are enjoying my sound meditations so far.

In today's meditation we will focus on observing your thoughts.

You might heard that meditation is all about of "not-thinking". My understanding is that it is to certain extent right.
But you can also use your thoughts as part of the meditation. So there is no need to suppress or deny your thoughts. Just allow them to be present at this meditation while you become the silent witness of your thoughts.

So let's explore another way of calming your mind and relaxing your body.

Enjoy this meditation:

Meditation with Simone

Hello from Simone,

I hope you are enjoying my sound meditations so far.

In today's meditation we will focus on body relaxation.
As you might know or noticed when the body is relaxing the mind and your breath are relaxing too. So they are connected. If you can relax one of them they will have a positive impact on the others.

For this meditation find a comfortable place where you can lie down and cover yourself with a blanket.
If you fall alseep that's fine, but try to stay awake and listening to the sounds and guided meditation. You might also want to bring your attention on how your body/ body parts is/are feeling during the meditation in order to cultivate a mindful awareness of your body.

Sound Meditation for Monday

Hello from Simone,
How are you getting on?
I hope my message and sound meditation was helpful for you last week?
Did you give it a try to take 5 minutes aside to be aware of your breath, how your breath if flowing daily?
Another powerful component of your breath is sighing. Yes, sighing. It is a deep breath, which starts as a normal breath
but before you exhale, you take a second breath on top of it. Sometimes a sigh is accompanied with a gentle sound.
In this way you get more oxygen into your lungs, which has a positive effect on your whole body as well as your mood.
In today's guided meditation we will focus on the outbreath with a gentle sigh. When bringing your attention to varioius body parts coupled with a gentle sigh you can experience a relief of tension and a feeling of relaxation and calmness.
