SAVE THE DATE: LAUNCH OF MENTAL HEALTH REFORM'S GUIDELINES FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES AND STAFF ON WORKING WITH PEOPLE FROM ETHNIC MINORITY COMMUNITIES
What? Mental Health Reform (MHR), in partnership with the Mental Health Commission, is launching its guidelines for mental health services and staff on working with people from ethnic minority communities. The guidelines are rooted in MHR’s policy position on ethnic minorities and mental health, [link to the report can be found below] which was developed on the basis of an international literature review and wide consultation with representatives from a number of ethnic minority groups, in addition to MHR’s Multi-Disciplinary and Ethnic Minorities Advisory Groups.

All are welcome to attend, including individuals from ethnic minority communities and/or people with self-experience of mental health difficulties/of using the mental health services, family members, supporters, carers, mental health organisations and mental health professionals and services, ethnic minority representatives and organisations, academics, policy makers as well as other key decision makers in the areas of mental health and/or ethnic minorities and other interested groups/ individuals.
Registration This event is free of charge but places are limited so please reserve your place early. Full details of the launch, including speakers on the day will be circulated shortly. To register for this event you can contact Kate at kmitchell@mentalhealthreform.ie or phone 01 874 9468. Please feel free to circulate this notice to your relevant contacts.

You are invited to Mental Health Reform's seminar on advance healthcare directives for people with mental health difficulties in Ireland.
What? Mental Health Reform will host a seminar on advance directives (ADs) for people with mental health difficulties in Ireland. This seminar will bring together national and international experts on ADs in mental health as well as key stakeholders to discuss the implementation of ADs within the Irish context.
When? Monday 12th December 2016, 9.00am - 4.30pm
Where? Citywest Hotel, Saggart, Co. Dublin
Speakers on the day will include Dr. Fiona Morrissey, Mental Health Law Researcher in Ireland, international speaker, John Oliver, Esq. (Attorney) City of Norfolk, Virginia, US and Peter Bartlett, Professor of Mental Health Law, University of Nottingham, UK. Speakers will also include experts by experience, representatives from key stakeholder bodies and Mental Health Reform's Director, Dr. Shari McDaid.

Former Gateway project Worker Tom got in touch with us with some information from Emer at Crosscare you might find interesting, regarding a CLAN Peer Mentor Internship.

"Hi Guys,
I’m recruiting for new peer mentors to start in December. If you know anyone interested can you please send this on to them.
As it is no longer a jobbridge internship, this is an unpaid internship but some daily expenses will be reimbursed. We are looking for people who can commit to 25 hrs a week for 1 year.
Attached is the application form for CLAN peer mentor internship.
Full training and work experience in Crosscare homeless services offered to all interns.
If you know anyone interested in applying please send it on to them. Closing date is Friday November 18th.
