Hi Folks.
Please find attached
information regarding the D12DMAP integrated Gardening group for 2015. Limited
places for new participants are now open. If you could please circulate this information within your group,
service or facility that would be great.
We are happy to say that this
group is going from strength to strength; with additional raised beds and
allotment space being provided this year and new volunteer mentors joining the
team.
With the additional gardening
space now secured, we are glad to say that this year there will be space for
3-4 more people to participate here. All that is needed from participants
is an interest in gardening and a time commitment of 2 hours per week between
the months of April-October.
When reviewing the project
last year, participants of the group identified the following benefits:
· Increasing of gardening knowledge & interest.
· Socialising, meet others & having the cráic.
· Getting
outdoors
· Having
the group to go to weekly provided for a calm relaxing space – good for mental
health.
· Bringing
produce home.
The group now meets every
Monday afternoon between 1-3pm. As numbers are limited, we would ask
those interested in participating here to respond at their earliest
convenience.
Kind Regards.
John
