Check out Arches new programme!

ARCHES Recovery College July August September 24 Programme by Gateway Project on Scribd

Arches are delighted to announce their Brand-New Programme of courses, talks, peer support, and social events for July, August, September 2024 (see Programme attached). There are two exciting new additions: 1. The Nearby Nature Project (starting Tuesday 9 July). This project aims to develop a mindfulness-based nature connection walk along the Dodder River using the ‘5 pathways to nature connection’: Contact, Beauty, Meaning, Emotion, and Compassion. We are seeking people to participate in workshops to create 5 wooden plaques that invite passersby to connect to nature. 2. The ARCHES Social Hub (starting Wednesday 10 July). This group will meet weekly for an hour and a half to offer people opportunities to be social (on their own terms). When we meet, we plan and take part in activities together (e.g. day trips, tea and coffee sessions, and social events), discuss what’s important to us, and offer each other mutual peer support. In addition to these innovations, we are also offering a host of other courses and events, that help people: • manage anxiety, • shop and cook healthily, • enhance resilience by using strengths, • learn about ARCHES by attending an Open Day, • understand and advocate for Trauma Informed Care, • validate the experience of ADHD and the Autistic Spectrum, • practice mindfulness and other activities that restore, nurture, and energise, • and use creativity to make sense of psychological distress and connect with others. For anyone who would like to know more about what a Recovery Education course is, and what to expect from attending our service, please watch the video below about our Willow course for family members, friends, and supporters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_gEJBobhJc&t=1s Willow is taking place this September in Avila House, Blackrock (see the Programme for more details).
