Hi folks,
As many of you already know there are a few changes coming up in Gateway. Mairead is moving on from Gateway at the end of April and Fionn is due back from maternity leave in June.
In the mean time Gateway is recruiting for a new Development Worker to work as part of the Gateway team, supporting Gateway members in the operation and development of a member and peer led community resource for people with self experience of mental ill health and recovery.
For those interested in applying see the job spec here: http://www.mentalhealthireland.ie/recruitment/
Mental Health Ireland are the employer and managing the recruitment for Gateway. Please follow the application process explained in the advert which will mean applying to Mental Health Ireland, not Gateway.
Please be aware that the deadline for applications is 5pm on Sunday 15th April. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place on Wednesday 25th April 2018.
Feel free to circulate this to people who might be interested and/or experienced. We are looking for someone who has a community development background with good knowledge of the context and kind of work that we do in Gateway using a community development approach.
Good luck to all/any applying.

National Concert Hall - Music In Mind Workshop at Gateway
Music
In Mind is a programme of participative music workshops for people in the
community living with Mental Health difficulties. The focus is on participation and
enjoyment. Our vision is that anyone
living with Mental Health difficulties should have the opportunity to
participate in collective music making, and to experience the benefits that
this can bring.
See Poster Below for Information on Upcoming Workshop at Gateway
Music in Mind believe that participation in music has a powerful role to play in the area of
Mental Health. Music, in particular
group singing, has been demonstrated to promote positive feelings, expectation
and hope, self-belief, social support and networking, structure and
organisation (Morrison & Clift, 2012).
Music
in Mind opens the door to a world of social and community music making,
develops individuals living with Mental Health concerns, and contributes to the
national conversation surround Mental Health; a subject that has been brushed
aside for far too long.
