March at Gateway... and WRAP time

Dear members and friends,

There is a spring to our step this month as we have lots in store at Gateway Project.  Check out the schedule for March and the excellent newsletter to help you get into springtime form!

March also brings new opportunities for personal growth, recovery and wellbeing through our peer led WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) training.  WRAP is an evidence based programme and self management tool for positive mental health and wellbeing long term.  Take a look at the information leaflet attached and if interested in learning more, Ali and Helen are running an information session on the WRAP programme in Parker Hill next Thursday 5th March at 2pm.  For any interested in booking a place on the course please email ali@rpcp.ie and/or helen@rpcp.ie or call the office to speak to a Gateway staff member during office hours on 01-4965558. More info on our blog.

Also Shan will be facilitating members hour on Monday with an interesting talk on thyroid conditions and mental health at 2.30pm - come along to Parker Hill to find out more and lend your support.

Wishing everyone a great month ahead and St Patrick’s Day festivities:  There’ll be member meet ups for the festival both on Monday 16th from 1pm and on Tuesday 17th from 12pm in Café Moda to decide on what to do together as a group (see the schedule and just pop along if you fancy it).  St Patrick’s festival programme available online here: http://www.stpatricksfestival.ie/events

Best wishes to everyone from us all here.

Very important members meeting with FREE lunch included! Monday 23 Feb 12-1pm

Dear Members,

We have a very important members meeting before drop in from 12pm this Monday 23rd February with free lunch and goodies included for everyone.

Why?
We need to update you on our important work this year to get Gateway more funding.  We also want to tell you about the steps we need to take over the next few weeks.  In January, the Gateway Advisory Committee wrote to important people and officials in the HSE and the Department of Health.  We requested meetings with them to discuss how to get Gateway better funded for the future.

Why now?
The officials and HSE managers we wrote to are influential people and we hope they will help us find better funding for Gateway.  They would like to come and visit Gateway and learn more about us over the next few weeks.  We need to arrange days and times for these people to visit us.  We also need to make sure that all members are aware of these meetings in advance so they can choose to attend or not.  We will make sure these visits are put into the monthly schedule and that members are emailed updates and a blog update will be posted online for example: http://projectgateway.blogspot.ie/2015/02/february-schedule-2015.html

Can you help Gateway?
We would also appreciate any help from members during drop ins and helping to pass along the information to others.
Martha will talk to everyone at the members meeting this Monday.  She will talk about ways people can keep their privacy and ways members could help if they want.

This will be a short meeting and relaxed chat with a nice free group lunch from 12pm.

Please attend this important members meeting if you can and tell other members to come too.

Many thanks,
Fionn & Martha
